Job Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Underground Excavator to support underground piping and utility projects. The ideal candidate will have hands‑on experience with trenchless excavation methods, pipeline rehabilitation, and heavy equipment operation. This role focuses on performing high‑quality excavation work safely, efficiently, and in alignment with project requirements.

Responsibilities:

  • Perform excavation tasks including trenchless installations, open‑cut excavations, and shoring system setup.
  • Operate and maintain heavy equipment such as excavators, backhoes, trenchers, and directional drilling equipment.
  • Assist with pipeline lining and rehabilitation using approved methods.
  • Follow all safety regulations, company policies, and jobsite procedures.
  • Read and follow blueprints, plans, and specifications as required.
  • Work collaboratively with the crew to complete daily tasks and meet project goals.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience as an Underground Excavator or similar role.

  • Knowledge of trenchless excavation techniques (horizontal directional drilling, pipe ramming, microtunneling).

  • Experience with pipeline lining and rehabilitation methods such as CIPP, sliplining, or spray‑applied liners.

  • Proficiency in operating excavators, backhoes, trenchers, directional drilling equipment, and related machinery.

  • Strong understanding of underground utility construction practices and OSHA safety standards.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and specifications.

  • Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively as part of a team.

  • Solid problem‑solving skills and attention to detail.
